WildlifeWest:
We had a class project where we did mock graphic work for a non-profit of our choosing. I chose Wildlife West Nature Park in Edgewood New Mexico, a non-profit that is near and dear to me. They home non-releasable animals and help educate people of all ages. I used a more natural font for their name to give a nod to the animals they protect, but I kept the words Nature Park more elegant. They have a coyote as part of their current logo, which is fitting to the nature park so instead of removing it, I gave it a make-over. Check them out at http://wildlifewest.org/wwblog/!
Santa’s Hide-A-Way Hollow
School project redesigning the logo for Santa’s Hide-A-Way Hollow. The non-profit helps seriously and terminally ill children. Giving them a chance to meet Santa Clause and even meet reindeer. We were told not to emphasize Santa. Therefore, I focused more on the antlers shed by reindeer, wanting to keep that magical feel that Santa Clause and Christmas inspire.
Photography. More to come!
I first went to school in 2007 where I got a BA in Professional Writing and Psychology. During my last semester, I obtained a job with the University of New Mexico Orthopaedics Department where I was responsible for editing the premier edition of The UNM Orthopaedics Journal. Early in the process, I expressed an interest in designing the journal as well. Since they didn’t have a designer. I designed the whole journal, which was sent to the printing house two days after my last final. This is where my love of graphic design began.
